Please observe that data on blood glucose, SOFA and SAPS are still missing and will be included in the reports in about 3 weeks. You will again be informed via email when the final ICU unit reports are available for download.

We would like to keep you up to date with the nutritionDay report availability.
This year a brand-new report for nursing homes was developed in German and English. Data in this report are presented in figures, graphics as well as in textual mode.
Further a nutritionDay oncology report was created for all participants of oncology nutritionDay.
Unfortunately the preparations are delayed and the reports will only be available in mid to end of March 2013.
We apologize for the inconvenience!

Dear Participants of nD in ICU!
Please observe that tomorrow (15.2.2013) is the official deadline for entering your ICU data into the nutritionDay ICU database. After closure of the database ICU unit reports will be generated and made available for you via the nutritionDay website. To download your unit report please go to www.nutritionday.org --> data --> nutritionDay in 1-2-3 ICU and enter your centre and unit code.

nutritionDay initiative in the "Children's Hospital Zagreb"

KEPAN (Turkish Society of Clinical Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition), has organized an event to increase social awareness about malnutrition and interest in nutrition Day. A big green apple maquette was shown off in the most crowded street in Istanbul. In addition to this, cloth banners with ''Fight Against Malnutrition'' motto were also put up in 23 different locations around the city.
Ass. Prof. Dr. Haldun Gundogdu, President of KEPAN, made a speech on importance of malnutrition and the ESPEN campaign, including nutritionDay, in front of the apple model and afterwards the hostesses gave out green apples and informative brochures about malnutrition to the public throughout the day.

you can download the power point presentation of your unit from the nutritionDay website.
Please proceed as followed:
www.nutritionday.org --> data --> download unit report and choose the right setting -->insert unit and centre code and download your unit power point presentation in the section "November 2011".
Important information for nutritionDay in hospitals: Please be aware that the download area for the nD unit report is in a different section: (data --> electronic data transfer --> the database for nutritionDay in hospitals)

Please observe that nutritionDay will distribute "nutritionDay Certificates" for successful participation in 2012.
In order to receive a certificate two criteria have to be met:
- 60% of all patients present in your ward shall participate in nutritionDay.
- for 80% of all patients included on 8th of November 2012, outcome evaluation has to be performed (30 days after nD in your hospital wards, 60 days after nD in your ICU ward, 180 days after nD in your nursing home).

The oncology nutritionDay is approaching quickly and its preparation is well underway and therefore we would like to give you a short update.
Up to now we created three oncology related sheets which were tested in a pilot in 5 countries (Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Israel). The translation process of the oncology sheets has now started in other countries. We received positive responses from a lot of countries but are still looking for support for Bulgarian, Danish, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia. If you know somebody who may support us with the translation in those countries please be so kind and forward name, contact details and country to the nutritionDay office (office@nutritionday.org).

Oncology nutritionDay 2012
the nutritionDay Team would like to inform you about the oncology focus of nutritionDay 2012. The Oncology nutritionDay 2012 will be conducted in addition to the general nurtitionDay. This special nutritionDay is developed for all cancer patients in hospitals and outpatient wards to promote safe nutritional care worldwide.The data obtained will be incorporated into the new ESPEN guidelines and thus increase their practical worth.
All units are welcome to participate!

nutritionDay conducts its first evaluation of nD in hospitals and nD in nursing homes.
We are very interested in improving the quality of the nutritionDay audit in order to support you even better in the future. In addition we would like to find out what has been achieved in the field. Participants of nD in hospitals and nursing homes receive an email including a link to the survey.

We would like to ask and encourage you kindly to include oncology patients in our upcoming nutritionDay on November 10th 2011. Therewith you will support the European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN) with the development of nutritional care guidelines for oncology patients. Based on these data we plan a new nutritionDay questionnaire for the oncology patient population in addition.

After Japan in 2008 the project now reached the United States. nutritionDay in the US will be presented and promoted at the upcoming ASPEN Clinical Nutrition Week in Chicago by Ms. Gail Gewirtz.

You will receive a report comparing the current status of your unit with the same speciality in all participating units. Intra-European comparison data can be used for benchmarking. The comparison of results from previous years enables you to identify how successful any improvements you have made have been.

Information should be gathered from your centres patient administrative system. Do not contact the patients themselves. For those who want to participate in "nutritionDay in nursing homes" please find actual information on how to register and order codes as well as a guideline for participation here.
Please be aware that those units from longterm-care units, which participated in the nutritionDay 2006 and which will now switch to
"NutritionDay in nursing homes" need to order new codes.
07.12.2006:
The nutritionDay in Nursing Homes will take place on the 25th of january 2007. If you cannot manage participation by that date, nutritionDay in Nursing Homes can alternatively be held on 22nd of february 2007! English and german questionnaires are available now (see questionnaires).

Two new variations of the nutritionDay will get ready soon:
"1-2-3 nutritionDay ICU" and the "nutritionDay in Nursing Homes".

Motto for the nutritionDay 2007: “FIND A FRIEND” (from Pat Howard, UK). There are two concepts in this motto. First participate again to check for the status of your unit (stable, change) in comparison with similar units, your “nutritionDay Friends”. This may help you in requesting support and ressources. Second to invite “New Friends” that are less involved in nutrition care to participate. These “New Friends” can benefit from your information and experience. The aim is to open clinical nutrition care to non-specialists.
