nutritionDay Research and Worldwide Impact
Generating evidence and insights to improve nutritional care across healthcare settings globally.

Research background
nutritionDay is a research-driven initiative designed to generate high-quality, standardized data on nutritional care and outcomes in healthcare settings. The annual data collection provides a unique, real-world snapshot of nutritional practices across countries, specialties, and care settings.

Data for international research
The nutritionDay database supports observational and epidemiological research on disease-related malnutrition, nutritional risk, interventions, and outcomes. The large, multinational dataset enables comparisons across healthcare systems and contributes to evidence-based recommendations in clinical nutrition.

Publications and impact
nutritionDay data have contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences. The findings help raise awareness of disease-related malnutrition and support improvements in nutritional care worldwide.

Scientific collaboration
nutritionDay is coordinated by an international research network and collaborates with academic institutions, healthcare professionals, and scientific societies. Researchers can use nutritionDay data to address clinically relevant questions and advance knowledge in nutritional care.
Submit a research proposal
Take advantage of the large international database and submit your research project linked to nutritionDay data. Up to now, data of over 300 000 hospital patients and nursing home residents was entered into the database since 2006 and it can be used by researchers and scientists for research purposes.
Read carefully the nDay questionnaires and formulate your research proposal for submission to the Supervisory-Scientific Board for approval.
All types of research projects written in English and linked to data collected on nutritionDay in hospital wards, intensive care units, nursing homes and primary care are welcome.
