Steps to Participate

STEP 1

Registration and Codes order

Register on the nutritionDay website and order the required codes for all participating wards, ICUs, nursing homes, or primary care units.

STEP 2

Ethics requirements

Check your local and national ethical regulations. The nutritionDay study is approved annually by the Ethics Committee of the Medical University of Vienna.

STEP 3

Prepare for nutritionDay (nDay)

Download documents and questionnaires, or prepare tablets if using the web app. Plan the participation with your team and your center

STEP 4

Collect data on nutritionDay

On the specific day in November, collect data using printed questionnaires and enter data into the nDay database.Use the web app.on tablets for simultaneous data collection and entry.

STEP 5

Collect and enter outcome data

30 days (Hospital)
60 days (ICU)
180 days (Nursing Homes and Primary Care)

STEP 6

Unit report and nDay certificate

Download your free, numerical and graphical report. Receive an official nutritionDay certificate upon fulfillment of data quality criteria.
SEE REPORTS

STEP 7

Discuss results and plan improvements

Review the report with your team and
develop an action plan to improve areas
highlighted by the report’s results.

STEP 8

Repeat participation annually

Annual participation allows your unit to monitor progress over time, compare results, and support continuous improvement in nutritional care.

The nutritionDay study receives yearly ethical approval from the Medical University of Vienna.

Promote participation to nutritionDay and help raise awareness about disease -related malnutrition and the importance of nutritional care with our ready-to-use flyers available in several languages. Use our promotional material to easily inform patients and their relatives, engage with unit staff, and support communication with doctor, nurses and staff in your unit . Download, share, and join the annual international audit on nutritional care
